That is a real problem. If you break code, it will make a lot of programmers unhappy.
I fully can understand why does not want that kind of “crap”, if one not gets paid for it.
That’s one of the reasons which do speak for C. Libaries once writen usually work for decades. I guess a lot of code form K&R Ansi C still will work.
I also think this is a reason why C won’t leave us anytime soon. To many written in it and it’s the core of the whole IT-World. Nearly every operating system uses C, every larger database uses C, be it Oracle, Mysql, Postgres or or or.
If C would suddenly disappear, we wouldn’t be able to do anything with computers.
