Strangely enough, it was never my „Bundespräsident“ or my „Bundeskanzler“. No I think it’s terrible to cheer for them. What is wrong? Well, it’s quite a few things. Or as one of your most terrible presidents has put it:
„“And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country.“

That subsumes it. It’s meritorious to be on the side of the governing, and you pay the highest price for treason, or just touching your leader. In the past you would get killed for it, and see what happens. All the crimes of the government are not a problem, but bringing them into the light is a problem; then you are named a criminal.

So thousands of years of indoctrination. „It’s beautiful dying for your country“ has taken it’s toll!
